Here at META we offer a comprehensive combination of coaching programmes covering all disciplines across cycling, running and triathlon. We have you covered.

All levels and abilities are catered for. Our programmes are specifically tailored to your discipline, needs and life to help you achieve what you want from your chosen path. Each athlete’s training plan is completely bespoke to them and it is designed to be achievable with the time they have available. We focus on making a training plan compliment someone’s work/life stresses. Training should enhance someone’s quality of life and the need to train for endless hours is not necessary.

META Cycling Coaching

£120 per month

Strength & Conditioning add on £30 per month

 

We provide our Cycling training plan via Training Peaks. This software allows us to plan a cyclist’s training in detail, monitor progress and provide and receive feedback.

Each training plan is completely bespoke to you and is designed to be achievable with the time you have available. We focus on making a training plan compliment someone’s work/life stresses. Training should enhance someone’s quality of life and the need to train for endless hours is not necessary.


META Enduro package

£150 per month

 

Enduro is a highly demanding discipline that is very unique in cycle sport. Not only are you pushed from a skill point of view but the body and head need to be strong too. Our comprehensive approach is aimed at making you a better all round rider with more Strength, Power and endurance to tear the trails apart.

This package covers both on the bike conditioning as well as a full Strength and Conditioning programme.

The proof is in the pudding with both EWS Pro riders Mark Scott (Santa Cruz) & Ruaridh Cunningham (Trek Factory Enduro) having been part of this programme for the last 2 years.


META Bike Strength & Conditioning

£75 per month

 

Get a fully periodised Strength and Conditioning programme, weekly assessment and updates.

Increase your power and speed and coordination; build physical capacity; work on imbalance and help prevent injury.

Triathlon coaching

 

A triathlon training plan will encompass all the different elements that are needed to be successful. This means training plans will include strength work and guidance about nutrition and fuelling strategies for training and racing.

Racing strategies will be formulated with all of our triathletes so they know exactly what they are aiming for on race day. We make sure they know exactly what equipment they should be using and can answer any questions about swim, bike or running wear.

 
 

ONLINE TRIATHLON COACHING

£120 per month

 

This includes all of the above. We will communicate with you via Training Peaks and text if you have any questions. You have the ability to ask any questions throughout each week of training. Our aim is to help you as much as possible so there will always be someone here to answer your queries. A Skype call can be set up each month to go through questions about training, hear about progress and plan upcoming training.


ONLINE TRIATHLON COACHING with ONE TO ONE TIME

£150 per month

 

Our training facility in Edinburgh enables us to see our triathletes on a one to one basis each month. We provide a 1 hour coached session every month. This time is used to help a triathlete work on the areas that they need the most help with. This will include strength training, bike and run sessions, nutrition planning and time spent looking at equipment. This valuable time is also used to catch up on how someone is getting on and answer any questions about training. Triathletes will also gain access to our training facility, the Cave.


Triathlon Consultation Service

£150 including report

 

This is a one-off session which can help you better plan your training and racing strategy. The consultation lasts 3 hours and is carried out at our training facility. It is designed to help you in the lead up to a key race or event.

We give insight into how to better structure your training, periodise your overall plan and what sessions will be most effective for achieving your goals. Detailed information about training and race nutrition are available, this will help fuel your training better and what to do come race day. We can also cover questions about equipment choices and how to plan for hot or cold environments. Other questions can be covered in the consultation.

Any information discussed will be summarised in a report, which is sent to you after the consultation.

 

TESTIMONIAL

I met Finlay for a consultation in May 2018, lasting about 3h. I was training for Challenge Roth (July 2018)  and having some problems with hip pain when running even short distances. I was in reasonable shape, and had experience of IM Barcelona, Challenge Roth and the Swissman previously. I’d done Roth the previous year and struggled with the heat, nutrition and nausea on the day. The initial idea had been to focus on some strength and conditioning work, touching also on nutrition, training structure and race day strategy. I was really impressed with how thorough Finlay was in his approach and I took a lot of really useful learning points. My training was really transformed, and even in the short time leading up to the event I made huge strides and improvements, far beyond what I’d expected. I found the structure and training advice particularly useful, and changing my nutrition made a big difference to my comfort and race day performance. My run time was 40minutes quicker than the previous year, and I finished in 10:47 which was well under what I’d been aiming for. I’ll admit to having been very cynical about coaching and advice in the past, thinking this unnecessary and a waste of money for an amateur like myself. I was evidently proved completely wrong! 

Based on my experiences I would highly recommend Finlay’s advice and coaching.

BEGINNER SPRINT DISTANCE TRIATHLON TRAINING PLAN

£100 for the plan

 

This plan is 12 weeks long and is designed to help you complete your first sprint distance triathlon or help you take a bit of time off your first attempt. The plan is split in to 3 phases:
weeks 1-4 are designed to help develop your skill set;
weeks 5-8 are designed to help you build your endurance; and
weeks 9-12 are race specific sessions to prepare you for the big day.

Most weeks are made up of 2 swim sessions, 2 bike sessions and 2 run sessions. There are test sessions built in to the programme which will show how you are progressing.

Run coaching

 

It doesn’t matter if you’re aiming to do a sub 3 hour marathon or complete your first 10km, a specific training programme can help any runner. We coach athletes training for obstacle course races, trail events and all distances of road running.

A running training plan will encompass all the different elements that are needed to be successful. This means training plans will include strength work and guidance about nutrition and fuelling strategies for training and racing.

Racing strategies will be formulated with all of our triathletes so they know exactly what they are aiming for on race day. We make sure they know exactly what trainers, clothing and other accessories they’ll need for an event too.

£90 per month
